All the training is complete — so why isn't the employee ready?

A polished onboarding plan can list activities without explaining how someone will start doing the job. See how to work with AI to build a path to the first real task: clarify the conditions, arrange a practice attempt and provide feedback.

What you can try

  1. What task should the employee be able to do?
  2. What will they need?
  3. How will we check the result?

Channel concept and brief by Eduard Ponomarev. The script, animation and synthetic narration were created with AI. This is a fictional example: a real plan needs to reflect the role, the team’s resources and the employee’s feedback.

A prompt for AI

Add your task and the conditions you already know. Use a fictional example or information you can share.

Help me draft an onboarding plan for this first real task: [task]. Here are the conditions I already know: [conditions]. Suggest preparation steps, the support needed and a way to check the result in practice. List unknowns and questions for the manager separately. Do not invent missing information.

English transcript

All the training is complete. Yet the new employee still can't get started.

Imagine AI has built a polished onboarding plan. A product course, a test, a mentor meeting. Everything is marked complete.

But tomorrow they face their first customer enquiry. No system access. The mentor is busy. Nobody has explained what a good response looks like.

We asked for a list of activities — and got one. We needed a path to the first real task.

Try starting with three questions. What task should the employee be able to do? What will they need? How will we check the result?

Ask AI to draft a plan around those questions and flag what is still unknown.

The manager clarifies the real constraints. AI helps spot gaps and connect the steps. Then the employee tries the task and gets feedback.

Start with one real task — and ask AI to help build a path to it.
